The 50th Reunion Is In The Books!
For two days in late July, in Lincoln Nebraska, old friends were reunited, new friends were made, drinks were had, food was eaten, old memories were shared, new memories were created, and stories will be told.
In addition to classmates that came together this weekend, we also were able to reconnect with teachers who helped shape us in the classroom. Mrs. Gade, Coach Eyth, Coach Forch and Anne Barry Forch, Coach McPherren, Coach Zentic, Mr. Beckmann, and Mr. Peterson (Pete) all joined us for one or both nights of the reunion. It was wonderful to see so many classmates visiting with their teachers, and to hear the teachers share stories about their years at East High School.
The Lincoln East High School Class of 1973 left its mark as the first 7th grade class, and the first to graduate having attended all six years at East High School. Everyone did not spend all six years together. Some joined as 10th graders, coming from other junior high schools (there were no "middle schools" back then). Some came from different high schools, other cities, and other states, yet we all came together as the Class of '73.
We have an opportunity to once again, come together as a class to leave our mark on Lincoln East High by paying it forward to support current East High Spartans.
Fellow members of our class have given $7,373.73 in seed money toward a "Give Back to East High Class of '73 Fund." We have a goal of raising $27,000.00 by December 31st to create a Class of 1973 endowed fund that would suppport the areas of greatest need at Lincoln East for the years to come. This fund is meant to directly support the needs of current Lincoln East High School students.
Please consider making a personally significant gift to this project! In keeping with the theme, what about a donation of $73.73? Or, if your budget allows, would you consider making a monthly gift of $73.00? Maybe $730.00? Any amount will help us reach our goal to make a difference for students at the school that meant so much to us.
Donations can be made directly by going to the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools, https://www.foundationforlps.org/and filling out the form. In the notes section, simply put "LEH Class of '73."
For more information, call the Foundation for LPS at 402.436.1612. and ask for the Foundation President, Wendy Van.
Let's go Spartans! Let's make a difference!

Happy Friday!
The reunion is getting closer. Only 56 days to go! If you haven't yet registered, what are you waiting for? Now is the perfect time to get all your plans made for the weekend of July 28 and 29, so please don't delay!
Speaking of registering, we have had some quesitons regarding payment options for the reunion, so hopefully this will help clear up any issues you may have had in registering.
If at all possible, please use the registration page on this site (50th Class Reunion tab) to indicate if you will be attending, if you are bringing a guest, and if you will be attending one, two, or all three events. Once you have registered, you may pay in one of three ways:
1) Pay online using a credit card.
2) Pay by mailing a check to Robin Spangler Shires at 14140 Panama Rd, Adams, NE 68301
3) Pay at the door using either cash or check. We are not able to process credit card payments at the door.
Hope this helps, and please don't hesitate to reach out to any Reunion Committee Member with questions!

Only 26 days to go before the reunion! If you haven't yet registered, please do so today! We are so looking forward to reconnecting with, and hearing all about what is happening in the lives of our fellow classmates since the 40th reunion, or for some folks, in the last 50 years!
The committee is hard at work to provide a space for friends to spend time with friends who knew them way back when. 1973. Can't wait to share old memories and create new ones together!
